Some of our present and future courses:

Islamic Finance 101:(IF101) Providing an understanding of how Islamic Finance functions and what the salient features are that make contracts Shariah Compliant. We will discuss in relative detail three of the most used contracts and how they are applicable to peoples needs in the West.

Islamic Finance 201: (IF 201)Higher level financial contracts will be discussed especially for building/construction, working capital/liquidity and agency contracts. We will also discuss items taking Islamic views on Guarantee’s, Collaterals and Co-Signing. Prerequisite: IF101

Islamic Finance 301: (IF 301)In depth information will be provided on Islamic Capital Markets and the use and application of the Sukuk (Islamic Bond) and 3 Sukuk contracts widely used. Shariah requirements for Stocks, views on common shares and preferred shares, as well as differences between Islamic and Conventional Stock Markets. Prerequisite: IF101

Islamic Finance 401: (IF 401) This session will deal with operations of Islamic Banks from deposit mobilization, to understanding Islamic current and savings accounts. It will also discuss how Islamic Banks make profits, deal with Risk Management and other risks that are Islamic Banking specific (such as Shariah Non-Compliance, Equity Risk etc). We well assess an Islamic Banks Income Statement and Balance Sheet composition, contrasting it to conventional banks. Prerequisite: IF101
